This charming stone built villa is typically Provençal, furnished in a farmhouse style, and tastefully decorated retaining the old beamed ceilings and exposed tiled floors.  The villa was renovated and redecorated this year, and has new mattresses, pillows and linen.  It is situated close to an ancient chapel which is only used the last Sunday of each month to ring the bell at lunchtime. 

 

It is in the centre of  Hameau de Serres with its own boulangerie within walking distance amd a 5 minute drive to Carpentras, 20 minutes to Avignon.

 

Bastide St Roch is an ideal touring holiday base for exploring the exciting region of the Lubéron.  There are 3000 km of signposted tracks and cycling trails follow small picturesque roads little used by cars.

 

Markets are lively and popular in Provence at nearby Carpentras, Isle sur la Sorgue, Maulaucene and Vaison la Romain. Antiques and Bricante are well catered for in the area, with Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and its 450 antiques shops and antique fairs at Easter and November, make it a popular town to visit, plus Avignon antiques market. The spectacular Fontaine-de-Vaucluse (8km) is another must-see, along with a visit to the historical city of Avignon (20km


The private swimming pool and choice of three terraces overlooking the garden remains a perfect spot to relax and dine al-fresco on delicious local food and wine after a long day exploring the treasures of Provence.

Bastide St Roch is located in the heart of the vineyards surrounding Carpentras, in the department of Vaucluse, Provence.  The villa is surrounded by high walls and electric gates ensure total privavcy.

 

It is a short drive to the famous Mont Ventoux, popular with cyclists in the summer and skiers in winter.
