Getting here:

 

Flights into Avignon, Nimes, Marseille and Nice.  The drive from the airports is easy, on the motorway and the villa is 15 mnutes from the motorway junction.

There are many "aire" stops on the mororway, one every kilometre, with loos, a snack bar and sometimes a play area. 

 

Train: there is a TGV station in Avignon, 20 minutes away from the villa, and a local train station.

Hire car: There are hire car offices at all the above airports and TGV station. 

 

It is advisable to hire a car for the rental of this villa, as the nearest supermarket is a short drive away. 

 

 

Location

Hameau de Serres is a small village nestled  in the middle of the wine region in Vaucluse, Provence,  South of France.  It is on the route de touriste for the Cotes de Rhone region and is a 10 minute drive from Carpentras, a lively market town steeped in history. 

 

Within 5 minutes on foot from the villa, there is a boulangerie for fresh bread and croissants, a cafe bar tabac which also serves lunch, with a boules area, a hairdressers, taxi service, garage and degustation and sale of wine from Domains.  Within 10 minutes by car, an E. Lecelare supermarket.  

 

The list is not exhaustive, but here is a list of why some people come to this area for their holidays:  walking, hiking, climbing in the famous 'Les Dentelles de Montmirail", golf, ski in winter, cycling, antique hunting, gardens, truffle market,  the trail of the templar knights, roman history, religious history and Avignon,  horse riding, art and museum visiting, visit the classified "most beautiful villages in France", the lavender fields and festival at nearby Sault, the Mont Ventoux, classified by UNESCO as a Biosphere reserve, gourmet food and of course the wine....the villa is surrounded by the famous vineyards of Cotes Du Rhone.
